The Texas Cowboy Reunion has been held around July 4th for 79 years. Swenson Ranch is one of the great historical ranches in Texas and, they have been a client of Stamford Insurance Agency for over 30 years. Stamford Insurance Agency was founded in 1964 in the farming and ranching town of Stamford and have helped serve the insurance needs of people all across Texas for over forty years. Stamford Insurance Agency’s dedication to friendly and honest service has been the cornerstone of this successful insurance office. The agency was purchased by Randy and Betty Murphree in 1987 and remains a family business today with the addition of their son Josh Murphree to the team of insurance professionals.
Randy and Betty were both raised in Rotan, Texas. They have been happily married for almost 35 years. Randy and Betty have been involved with agriculture their entire lives, both coming from families that made their living farming and ranching. They continue their involvement today. They live on a 320 acre mixture of cotton farm and creek pasture located 5 miles South of Stamford. They also have several other places leased where they operate a small cattle operation. Randy and Betty graduated from West Texas State University before moving to Stamford. Betty retired from teaching at Stamford ISD after almost 30 years of service. Randy was employed at Rolling Plains Production Credit for 10 years before entering into the insurance business. Randy’s agriculture background allows him to evaluate the insurance needs of a farmer or rancher with a personal understanding of the risks each face in a rapidly changing industry. Randy has earned his AFIS designation (Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist).
Josh Murphree and his wife Carri also reside in Stamford. Josh graduated from Stamford High School in 1997. He was an officer in the FFA program and enjoyed showing steers. Josh received his college degree from Tarleton State University in 2001. Josh stayed involved with agriculture while in college by working at the TSU dairy and horse barn. After graduation Josh followed in his fathers footsteps and joined Stamford Insurance Agency. Josh possesses a very thorough knowledge of the insurance needs of today’s farmers and ranchers. Josh has earned both a Certified Insurance Counselor designation and his AFIS designation. He is dedicated to the belief that a person’s insurance protection is only as good as their agent.
